New Product - COCONUT OIL

100% PURE COCONUT OIL from Tropical Traditions.
(Neutral flavor. No coconut taste.)

I’m passing along some savings by re-packaging this oil from a much larger quantity so you can get the amount you need at a lower price!  It will generally come in a pint or quart mason canning jar with my own labeling.

1 quart (28 oz.): $14 + tax
1 pint (15 oz.): $8.50 + tax
12 oz. jar: $7.00 + tax

($0.50 off per jar if you trade in a same size/type jar and lid.)

Local Pick up only.  No Shipping. Cash, FB Pay or Venmo accepted.

From Tropical Traditions website:

“Tropical Traditions 100% pure coconut oil is produced in the
Philippines. This high quality coconut oil is made from coconuts in rural areas of the Philippines far away from large cities. This is a traditional coconut oil with no chemical processing, and tested for the presence of glyphosate.

The coconut oil is produced by the expeller-pressed method using a mechanical extraction process. No solvent extracts such as hexane are used in the refining process. This 100% pure coconut oil is a popular local product in the Philippines, and Tropical Traditions is the only one exporting it into the US market.

We feel this premium coconut oil rivals many of the more expensive coconut oils in the market in both quality and taste. The taste of this coconut oil is very bland due to it being steam deodorized. This coconut oil provides a very neutral and consistent flavor to foods.

Because this coconut oil does not go through the expensive organic certification process, it is much more affordable than other coconut oils sold as "organic" or "virgin," yet we feel it rivals or is superior to many other coconut oils on the market that are over-priced.

The coconuts that are sourced to produce this pure coconut oil come from the volcanic rich soil of Quezon Province in the Philippines, from the same areas where our organic farmers provide organic coconuts to produce our Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil. This is our most affordable coconut oil.”

Pricing Method Change

Since I buy my vanilla beans by weight from the grower, it's been really hard for me to have consistent pricing when I sell the beans individually.  One pound of beans have 85 beans in it or the next time it may have 125.  It all depends on the weight of the beans.  I can't keep changing the prices around every time I get a new batch of beans SOOOOOoooo, I'm going to start selling by weight. Just like a grocer.  That means if you buy an ounce of beans you will get approximately 5 beans. Or four. Or six.

You can buy the beans by weight but the count will vary, or you can continue to buy the beans individually, but the price will vary. I've tried to make sure the overall cost will be similar to my most recent price list. Hopefully this will provide a much more consistent price list and will only need to change when/if my costs increase. Also, if you live in Idaho, I've got to start charging 6% sales tax. Boo-hiss....

Price per Ounce:

½ - 2 ounces: $17/oz

2.5 - 4 ounces: $16/oz

4.5 - 6 ounces: $15/oz

6.5+ ounces: $14/oz

Number of Beans per Ounce

1/2 oz. = approx. 2 beans

1 oz = approx. 5 beans

1.5 oz. = approx. 8 beans

2 oz. = approx. 11 beans

Exciting New Developments!

I'm SUPER excited about the new supplier we found in Mananara, Madagascar. Here's what's new:

~ Vanilla beans are longer, heavier, and more consistent in size.

~ We're guaranteed a much more steady supply.  (Our last supplier was quite hit and miss.)

~ We're the only middleman between the source and YOU!

~ We're in direct contact with the grower via phone and email.

~ Last, but not least, these beautiful vanilla beans are CERTIFIED ORGANIC!

Can you believe it? Organic vanilla beans at fabulous prices!! I don't have the "organic" labels, but you can see a copy of the certification here: http://www.cindee.net/EcoCert.pdf (Warning: it's in French!)

Our new vanilla suppliers have been working with vanilla beans for over 20 years. They are both confident and passionate about their work. The founder, Zebeline, dreamed about starting a vanilla bean business ever since she was 10, working on her parents' farm. She completed her bachelors and master’s degree in Madagascar. She decided to travel to the US to study at University to help pursue her dreams. She and her partner, Bill, now travel back and forth between the US and Madagascar.

When I talked on the phone with Bill, he told me that the vanilla beans come from Zebeline's farm, her parents' farm, her sister's farm, and if they are running low on product, then there are neighboring farms that contribute.  All of these farms worked together to have the whole area certified organic. So you are getting some QUALITY beans. Very exciting!
